Tree Braids

What type of hair is used for Tree Braids? This may be one of the most asked questions I receive on a daily basis. There are a few other things you need to know before you decide to purchase ANY hair …

  1. When purchasing the hair for tree braids, the hair length needs to be 18" or longer. Why so long you may ask? Well, the hair is folded in half in order to create the braid, so the hair automatically shrinks in size. Whether you're using human, synthetic, or virgin hair, please PLEASE be sure to pick up 18" or longer to achieve your desired style of choice.
  2. If using Virgin Indian Hair, you will need 8 oz. The hair is usually sold in bundles, each bundle weighing in at 4 oz. If you are purchasing Synthetic or Human hair, you will need 3 packs. (Tree braids tend to use a lot more hair, so it's always a good idea to have more than enough than running out)!
  3. PLEASE PURCHASE HAIR ON THE WEFT ONLY! This hair is meant specifically for braiding, unlike hair sold on a weft which is process differently and tends to be too soft to braid with.
  4. Now, the type of hair I recommend using are Milky Way, Outre, Free Tress & Model. I'm sure that there are more brands out there, but these are the TOP 4 that all of my clients tend to really like. Not to mention the prices for each brand are fairly reasonable.

Now remember ladies, tree braids are HOTT this season, and can be worn anywhere from 6-8 weeks before needing to be redone. As your stylist, I want you to get the most out of your money which includes giving you the best style & the longest wear. The hair used for Tree Braids CANNOT be used again, so I wouldn't advise spending an arm and a leg. Take a quick trip down to your local beauty supply store, grab your hair, and give me a call! $75 will give you a low maintenance hairstyle that will last up to 2 months! Call me TODAY, same day appointments are always available, 7 days a week! 404-437-2992
